'Impact Proxy' sees sinister storm clouds brewing in the blackening sky, agitating the dark swelling waters of drums beneath. A brief lull creates a sense of foreboding before the storm unleashes a raging torrent of beats interspersed by furious muted amen.

Being a Drum & Bass veteran from the early nineties, these days it really takes something special to make my ears prick up. So much new D&B has been done before, and better, using far less sophisticated equipment. So it was with delight when I heard Paradox play the opening bars of Impact Proxy on a recent podcast. Initially, I wondered if this was a tune I had missed out on from back in the day and eagerly awaited the track information only to discover it was actually a brand new production! I could picture the late Kemistry and Storm dropping this bomb on the earth shattering Eskimo Noise sound system at Metalheadz at the Bluenote, this tune would have truly have set the place ablaze with its originality and well...impact.

All four tracks on this EP are strong and the fantastic splatter coloured vinyl is the icing on the cake. Artilect is definitely an artist to watch out for and I can see this EP becoming quite sought after in years to come.
