- A Fantastic Reissue from this Masterpiece . Grant Green at its best from the beautifull Tone Poets Series
- Edited one year agoFlawwless record! No cliks, no background noices and the instruments are so well mastered..
Grant Greens guitar and Ike Quebecs tenor saxophone on "My one and only Love" are sublime! - Absolutely fantastic pressing, warm, full, detailed sound. The guitar just sounds incredible. A pleasure.
- I bought my copy 2nd hand from an Antique mall vinyl shop. Got it for a good price so figured why not. Wow was I surprised!
1st off my copy is completely flat and doesn't have any of the audible issues others reported. It is clear, dynamic, quiet vinyl and Ike's sax is mesmerizing. I still wish they would get rid of the tear top plastic sleeve and give us resealable sleeves with these Tone Poet reissues though.
In conclusion I got it cheap, but I would have gladly paid MSRP for it now that I have listened to it. Great recording and fantastic album. Highly recommend. - Beautiful pressing and album. BN consistently delivers on their trend of great quality in the Tone Poet series with this re-release. Nice separation and little to no surface noise. Only small critique is the sax solo on B1 compared to the other solos throughout is a bit jarring as the sound feels 1.5x louder than the rest of the LP - kind of jarring for a pretty chill album.
- Being a jazz fan in the U.K. is frustrating, I missed the first pressing of this lp and was hoping to pick up the second press but for some reason it isn’t easily available over here. I tried contacting Blue Note three times but they just refer me to UMC customer services who just state the obvious that it is not available. All I want to know is whether it will be eventually shipped over here or not, seems a simple question but obviously isn’t.
