I am actually really impressed with this remaster. It sounded really full and clear. I compared the opening track, Dogshit, to the 12 single version of it on vinyl, and this remaster didn't sound too far off from it. I highly recommend picking this remaster up. Definitely much better than many of the other Skinny Puppy remasters.

It's actually a pretty good thing seeing all the comments about how much the Skinny Puppy re-issues suck, then ordering them anyway, cause your expectations are close to zero so they're bound to sound better than you expect. Anyway, having actually given this one a fair amount of spins, the sound is indeed a bit muffled. It lacks high end and there's too much surface noise and pops (low in volume though, but consistent throughout the record). Don't expect too much if you decide to get it, but I feel that some of the really harsh criticism is uncalled for, at least as for the copy I got. As a sidenote - these re-issues have a hundred times more static than any other record I've bought - close to impossible to get out of the inner, so a wet clean is an absolute must. Really hard to get them dust/etc free without cleaning them.

These re-issues are poor. They sound really flat and compressed, almost as if the vinyl is from a compressed master. I would strongly recommend getting a clean copy of the original.

I just got this 2019 reissue. I was hesitant based on poor reviews, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. Maybe I just got lucky or whatever, but this sounds really really good. No surface noise or excessive pops (I gave it quick wipe-down), doesn't sound flat or muddy, and the cover is clear and crisp. I also got the latest reissues of Rabies and Last Rights, and they too sound really really good, although Last Rights does seem a bit quieter.

Why does it still have 2988 on the back bottom left of the sleeve?

This is official. But I should have listened to what others have been saying about these reissues. The quality is mediocre at best. Listen to the start of Testure and then listen to another source. This sounds muffled, like you are listening to it through a wall, no dynamics.

I doubt this is official, considering previous reissues were canadian.
Not to be racist or anything, but east europe kinda is infamous for bootlegs.

Avoid this. Got this and Rabies, and returned them both. Ran them both through a spin clean TWICE. The surface noise is unacceptable. Both releases sound quiet and muddy. No dynamics. Save a couple more bucks and a decent copy of an original press. I’ve been listening to SP for over 25 years, love them to pieces. But I’m not buying into this cash grab bullshit.
