Gray-splashed/marbled white vinyl with a small reddish smear (disc 1/2), and reddish-splashed/marbled white vinyl with a bunch of tiny reddish flecks (disc 3/4). This is one of a few variations of some experimental pressings of a few different Beatles records that have surfaced that were apparently made in 1978; most are splashed color combinations of some sort, although some are clear vinyl. This is the only gray marbled copy known of any of these experimental variations, of any title (this entry will be updated whenever the existence of another gray marbled copy is verified); this is also only one of two copies known of the experimental 1978 White Album color variations that has a color variation for disc 3/4 (one other copy is known to have a purple splash vinyl disc 1/2 and a reddish-smeared disc 3/4 similar to this one; all the other color variations are reported to have a plain white vinyl disc 3/4).

Runout has the Winchester "rifle" marking (. -----<|) on side 1, as well as the [X] square and "Jay" signature on side ?, indlcating that it was mastered by Jay Maynard. Runout on sides 1 & 3 has the letters "GOL" etched lightly into the surface, overlapping the beginning of the matrix number (SEBX...); the "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" stamp on side 4 has virtually no "L" visible.

Originally released on Apple Records in 1968, this is a 1978 reissue on Capitol with the same catalog number. It has the purple 1978 labels with "Mfd. by Capitol" text included at the top, "Record 1", "Record 2" designations and large Capitol Logos at the top.

Non-embossed sleeve, "The BEATLES" printed on cover in gray text. This edition is NOT numbered as the originals were.

Label variant "Produced by George Martin" uses two lines.

Comes with 4 portraits (thin paper, no cat#) and probably originally came with a foldout poster with lyrics on one side and a photo collage on the other. Gatefold sleeve with openings on the side.

    Label/Sleeve differences:
Track B5, label: Rocky Racoon, sleeve: Rocky Raccoon.
Track B7, label: Why Don’t We Do It In The Road, sleeve: Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?

Cover spine has printed The BEATLES SEBX-11841

Is everyone sure these aren't just mistakes? I'm looking at a UK white vinyl pressing with a couple gray streaks on the first record & some green streaks on the 2nd as I type this. I've definitely seen white vinyl pressings of other albums with the same sort of problem & those are never some special run. It just seems like some pellets of different colors accidentally getting in the mix.

I have a purple marbled disc 2 (sides 3 & 4) with matching runouts. It looks amazing! If anyone wants to see a photo, message me.

I have this in my collection. Everything is the same as described in the runout groove on this page as mine. But...I have 2 different purple labels for each record.
I think I may own a test pressing I had no clue I had. Please advise.
