I am 100% in agreement with all these glowing comments. This record is a powerhouse stunner; guitars bite like Dracula, the rhythm section pounds relentlessly. When I first played it, I couldn’t bear to leave the room while it was on, it was so engaging. A true immersive rock and roll experience and Sundazed’s best result since Sun Ra’s “Exotica” . Kudos to Bob Irwin’s team and RTI for doing such a wonderful job.

I personally look forward to these Sundazed mono reissues. Best of Muddy Waters was excellent as was Captain Beefeheart's Mono Milk and this Steppenwolf reissue is another nice addition. They used the "Original Dedicated Mono Master" here, cut by Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI, top quality all around. Not to mention the clear vinyl is marvelous and the foil cover is a nice touch. The bass really drops and pulsates the rhythm perfectly with the punchy drums while the guitar freaks out and Mars rages on! Sounds great. The clarity is exceptional. Highs not strained, sounds dynamic warm and pure. Sounds like your having a rave up right in your living room ah sookie sookie nawww! Stand out track, "Hootchie Kootchie Man," a super-powerful blues rendition that will surely tear your house down.

This is overall an excellent pressing. Crystal clear vinyl. I don't have a good original to compare and I'm told the mono version was a fold-down, but it sure sounds good cranked up!
