Edited 2 months agoTo me this Capitol 2008 reissue sounds great, bough new and I was immediately worried because estetically vinyl don't look good at all but the quality is pristine, no surface noise and punchy, dynamic sound, a real pleasure to the ears.
Edited 3 months agoUnlike other transpositions on vinyl of works born to be listened on CD, this record sounds really good and I don't think it's a defect comparing it to the level of listening to the version on CD. Maybe they were all the same masterization of this kind of music on vinyl! Rating 8.5
Wow, this went up in value since I bought it...
I’m guessing the bad reviews are from people who don’t have the proper low end in their systems to bring out the true beauty of this pressing. Drum and bass heavy, yes, but so was this album. My system has the proper speakers for this album—and it sings. Granted, I did drop the bass a touch, but this is a pressing to wake up the neighborhood, if you dare.- I must have lucked out? I think my copy sounds fantastic - very dynamic, punchy, and "3D" feeling...
It sounds like this pressing might be a gamble based on the mixed comments here - but if you get a good one, you will be very pleased with it. 
Edited one year agoSound is meh, in my opinion .. Sometimes a bit more details are revealed IMO compared to digital, but other times it just sounds cramped.
Not sure if the pressing is at fault, perhaps the mix/master is not exemplary too.
However, why span this album over 4 sides? Normally I would be all for this but in this case, not sure if any quality is gained by the process, starting from a mediocre source- For those with good sounding records: Did you have the golden „Capitol Vaults“ sticker on the wrapped record?
- Happy to report a fantastic sounding pressing. Clearly quite inconsistent.
Unfortunate to see a number of people seem to have bad-sounding copies. My copy sounds great, I have no complaints whatsoever.
Grainy and flat sounding pressing. Also the lack of a foiled logo it's a sin.
