Honestly apart from the first track the rest of this album is pretty sub-par. Side one has a really derivative version of "Blue Suede Shoes" which on an album with such an enigmatic title track, really is a jolt and not in a good way. The rest of side 2 reeks of laziness and basic buffoonery, with a sub Jim Morrison spoken word track and a needless 16 plus minute version of "Baby Please Don't Go" showing us that some lost music should remain just that.

Weird situation, bought a copy of Ultimate Spinach - Behold & See which is SE-4570 on MGM but this was what was actually on the LP. The matrix numbers match up with the first stereo press of this but the labels and jacket are Ultimate Spinach.

This LP starts with an uptempo light in airy melodic track which includes flute that graduates into a menacing guitar solo. Quite unique with pulsating bass line. Track 2 (instrumental) opens with brass and other orchestral instruments with a brief timing change containing increased horns. Track 3 is also orchestral with a string into and percussive instruments evolving into psych guitars akin to Pictures Of Matchstick Men. Track 4 Blue Suede Shoes is a misfit. Traditional sounding, pass. Track 5 light psych/jazz feel, blues progression. Track 6 Rhythmic R&B progression with a solid guitar lead. Track 7 opens with a solo echo chambered guitar with a volume pedal - Somewhat meandering. Spoken word begins part way through the track. Recommended if you're bored. Track 8 Baby Please Don't Go..an uptempo wild version. Fans of the version by Them "might" find this entertaining. Overall not nearly as good and with 16 minutes dedicated to this one track vs. additional music appears wasteful. As with their first LP this LP also suffers from a lead vocalist that should consider a replacement. It's the anchor that weighs some of the music to below surface level.
