The Sonic Colors OST (ViViD SOUND x HYBRiD COLORS) confirms that Makino composed I Wanna Breathe (Track 23). Just a Breath! (Track 24) is a sound effect originating from Sonic 1 and, therefore, was also composed by Makino.
These (and the 1-Up jingle) have been reused in other Sonic titles for the Nintendo DS. Since Nakagawa is the only person from this game involved in the others, he therefore arranged these two tracks (and composed and arranged the 1-Up jingle).
Ethno Circus had a "Digital Remakin' Trax" version planned but didn't make the cut due to CD space. However, Hideki Naganuma released it on his SoundCloud, however later on he removed it from his SoundCloud and a YouTube channel called "FUNKY DEALER" (now "FUNKY UNCLE") also removed it's upload of it but there's been re-uploads of the song.

Would kill to have this. One of the last mainline releases I need for my collection.
Would pay really good money for a copy of this. OBI strip isn't needed but would be amazing to have, but I would want the original casing and artwork. This soundtrack really shaped me as a kid.

Edited 3 years agoOne of the best soundtracks of any DS game. In my opinion at least as good as Hideki's better-known works, maybe better. Not a bad song on the disc.
Nothing has been remastered from how the DS would synthesize it (not even the "digital remakin' trax" that don't appear in the game), which can be a positive or negative or neither, depending upon how you look at it. I'm mostly in the "positive" camp, although greater dynamic range or more emphasized channel separation would probably have been possible without ruining the vibe. Regardless of your sentiment it does mean that you could hook your DS up to your PC or tape deck and bootleg yourself a nearly equivalent copy of this with the game's Sound Test menu.
