Not bad, not that good either, actually it sounds like my CD, a bit dry but no skips no surface noise in my copy

Agreed that the quality on this is subpar- fortunately the wax is dead silent and flat as can be so you can really crank it. With a good system you can EQ most of the shortcomings of this album and make for an enjoyable experience, albeit not as good as an OG pressing, but only $25 on Amazon a few years back.

Terrible release. Lot of surface noise. Waste of money. Avoid.

After comparing this to an original release there does seem to be something wrong with this release. It does not sound bad, however it seems to be a little compressed and the high end is buried. If you compare "Battery" from original it sounds the same. The other tracks just squashed a little. To me Battery has always sounded different than all the other tracks on Master of Puppets. You cant hear the hi-hat at all on that track, the mix is just to guitar heavy while the other tracks have a better balance. Overall I would say this is an ok pressing and better than not having the album.

I bought this in 08, listened to it once and then shelved it. Sounds terrible.

Horrible pressing. Even is a shame resell a copy like this. The sound is like comes from AM radio.

The quality of this pressing is terrible, if not outright defective. Disc displays bad warping, and is prone to skipping. Loud surface noise on both sides. Tracks are noticeably faster than CD/streaming. Sound quality is poor. This record is trash.

Agreed with all below. This pressing is pretty depressing. The grooves are so shallow, the needle wants to hop right out.

So I just picked up an 86' Elektra pressing of this, and the difference is night and day. Don't spend more than $10 on this pressing, no bass, warbling on vocals, and the mastering is flat -- not to mention the warping other people have mentioned here.

Mobile Fidelity, Master Tapes, George Marino. This SHOULD have worked, yet here we are.
