Contrarywise direction for easy listening or lounge, Coil second volume collection of rarities and lost sessions roll us back to an otherworldly case where the music accompaniments akin with nightmares and oddly delusions serve as soundtrack for advertising and muzak.
An unquiet set of atmospheres created with minimum elements to emancipate tension and strangeness.

As a matter of fact some tracks appear to have been used as sessions for the creation of some posterior tracks. "Hills are alive" set back the edifice for the "Windowpane" & "the snow". Meanwhile "Vanishing point", "Main title", "Theme for blue II" contains the premonition of "Worshipping the glitch", "Constant shallowness leads to evil".

The collection contains the fundamental project for "Hellraiser", ununderstood for the cinematic project yet ahead of the time, which is understandable since Coil is not the kind of project that will come with a simple narrative or idea.

In either case, a work subtitled "smiling in the face of perversity" should lead us rightly at the heart of what lies inside this, an unquiet satisfaction where things are not what they seem or even lack the form to be things. "Airborne bells" melted in one piece with "Another brown world" make indistinguishable when one thing starts and when the next begin, and this characteristic, so interlaced with Coil essence it's explicit in here in its beginning, in the very inititiation of its excursion.

A work for those wanting to see the skeleton of this magnificent beast.
