- The stakes were high for this album so my anticipation was very low because I was sure Kevin wouldn’t be able to live up to the hype. When Patience and Borderline came around I could vibe to them, but they didn’t sweep me off my feet like the older stuff did. I knew there was gonna be a new Tame Impala album soon and I liked that, but my anticipation wasn’t through the roof. Naturally when The Slow Rush finally dropped, it was so much better than what I thought it was gonna be. But it’s not an illusion, the thing is actually good, it’s just that everyone’s expectations were too high. Of course people wanted him to make a second Currents. In my eyes this album is at least as good. The influence of dance and disco music throughout the whole thing is a healthy continuation of the Currents sound. It’s like how Currents added more synths to the Lonerism sound. The Slow Rush also works way better in it’s entirety than the individual singles do. Posthumous Forgiveness didn’t stand out to me in any way as a single, but now it’s my favorite song.
- Minimal complaints with this - it’s a good press. Records needed a spin clean, but afterward they play very clean. Minimal surface noise, zero pops, zero vinyl imperfections. Overall the records sound pretty great. What’s weird is I do feel the soundstage could be slightly bigger and I could use a slight boost in upper mid-range frequencies on Disc 1, however Disc 2 addresses those nitpicks and sounds fantastic. Really strange. Overall though, pleased with the sound. Lower frequencies across both discs thumps.
- Does this cover remind anyone else of the scene in Real Genius where they fill the house with popcorn? Just me?
- Kind of dirty pressing i guess , inner sleeves causes so much static so they scratched the vinyl, couldnt they change the sleeve to the other way ? Soft side is inside shiney side is outside...

- Really nice pressing. Sound quality is excellent. Very clean vinyl. Not their best work musically, but an enjoyable listen nonetheless. Definitely a good copy to get if you're a fan.
- FYI:
Regarding the number of copies of this limited edition, I contacted Universal Music Customer Service and they told me that "they had 3500 of these for the UK."
