Anyone know if BG did a new remaster and lacquer cut in 2020, or is this the same as his Rhino 2009 lacquer cut? I am used to the Rhino cuts from 2009 which I find outstanding. Not sure about this one, though. Got a bit disappointed by its paper inner sleeve. The record was all scuffed at the edges and had a lot of paper debris. It will need a few wet-cleans before I can decide. So far I find it sound a bit too trebly.
This is an amazing pressing. It's clear and sonically vibrant. I love Jim's voice on this record and I love the orchestral aspect to the album as well. Check this clip out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrDsSPtZOu4 It gives you an idea of where they were visually and musically.
Fastastic sound! I also have some USA originals and some Rhino 2009 remasters of the Doors and this one is really great! It's a good example of how good a digital remaster can sound. It sounds clear, warm, rich and dynamic. I really recomment this pressing.
Lots of debris and paper as new from the factory; really dirty. After a good wet cleaning and vacuum, this thing sounds really good. Paid $19, hard to beat that! Solid pressing as with my Waiting for the Sun and The Doors copies of the same 2020 pressings. Really fun listen as all are punchy, full frequecy and clean! Great imaging on this. The Soft Parade wasn't my favorite albm, but I have a new love for it now.
