There is so much going on here, that you really need to give it your full concentration. Don't do anything else just listen. Don't even eat. The first couple of times I played it, I thought it quite fragmented, but it was actually me that wasn't paying attention properly. Its a really creative piece of work, dark and brooding and only jazz in the loosest possible sense of the word. Its modern urban music and pretty special

I would ignore the other review. This is an excellent album of jazz/hip-hop fusion. Kassa Overall shows an excellent ear for blending the spirit of jazz (collaboration and improvisation) with the feel of indy hip-hop.

It's 2020; if you can't handle samples, where have you been since the 70s? Also, If you disapprove of Black oppression as a subject-matter for extensive exploration in music, you should probably just stop listening to jazz. You know, the genre born out of the unique experiences of Black America.
