Edited 5 months agoA deadly underrated album from a lethally underrated artist. I hate to say this, but she reminds me of a female Prince. Progressive and funky. One of my few genuine 5-star ratings. Back-to-back enjoyable with the pleasant, different interlude (or outro for LP) "Nothin' You Can Do."

Still a great album. Different than the Klymaxx productions, this one was more situated in funk and the hits of Bernadette's fun personality and spirit are scattered throughout.. DO You Really Know What Love Is, The Agency Sent Me, Straight Jacket Love Affair, Movie Produce Her and The Underground are great tunes. Really, the whole album is a good listen.
One of the most underrated, overlooked R&B/soul/dance/funk albums of the early 90s - masterminded by the leader of Klymaxx, Bernadette Cooper's CD is chock full of amazing tracks, such as The Underground, The Agency Sent Me, Howard Hughe Sitcom, I Look Good, and more - if she were a man, this would have been heralded as a visionary, but alas MCA didn't realy promote it and it sank without a trace. Still holds up today.
