Reviews
- Edited 7 months agoWhat an amazing project for Patrice. Classic R&B track with 'Forget Me Nots' and a timeless Instrumental 'Number One' are just the beginning. This pressing is extremely quiet and has an awesome soundstage. Packaging is a BIG winner. MoFi style inner sleeve, thick jacket and booklet are awesome!
- Edited one year agoYes, very quiet vinyl and great mastering. I have no OG to compare it to but this VMP release sounds so good that I have no urge to pursue another version. If you are into Patrice Rushen this is a very good listen. Highly recommended!
- Amazing clarity on this remaster. Although not a hugely popular release when vmp announced it, this is a must have if only for an example of how excellent vinyl can sound.
- Not sure why this was re-issed at all. OG copies are very easy to find and sound great. The best sounding version of this album is the Rhino Expanded Edition cd from the mid-90's.
- Has anyone compared this to an original?
Is there any other way to purchase this other an VMP?
Cheers. - Another great VMP repressing. Great depth, soundstage and tone ... their AAA remasterings have all been stellar, including this one. And hopefully this makes more people aware of the musical force that Patrice Rushen is. She wrote, produced and performed all her own work (for the most part) and this is a stellar case of her soul/funk/pop songcraft. A must have version of a great album.
- I've got two copies too, and neither includes the 12" interview booklet. Seems to be some confusion at VMP as the rep I communicated with did not seem to be aware of the possibility that the interview booklet was actually to be included with VMP's other Patrice Rushen release, Posh. But that seems the most plausible reason for the problem here so, I won't pursue the issue any farther. Thanks for the info pghmusiclover
