My copy sounds very good. Just very light background noises. This is not a total clean version. "Ain't That A Bitch (Ask Yourself)" is very clean, but Bitch is spoken out ;-) And the N word is also spoken out. All in all a cool album. I am satisfied.
Wish I would have checked Discogs before ordering this record. Censoring UGK songs doesn't make any sense. There is no pleasure listening to a clean version of the dirtiest. My new copy also had black flecks that didn't brush away and caused loud pops. I'm not putting my needle back on this one. : /
As a fan I'm happy just to have it on vinyl in my collection for it's aesthetic value. The green vinyl is cool looking. As an audiophile don't waste your money. If you already have it on CD or really any other platform stick with that. "Ain't that a bitch" is censored for some unknown reason and having any censored song on a UGK album is like a pencil with no lead, it's pointless. Someone at Get On Down should get slapped across the mouth for that. Pay more attention to the project and customer. Consider cutting vinyl from original master recordings instead of a CD or MP3 you transfer to vinyl...I really want to like Get On Down they reissue lots of great stuff but the LP playback is always mediocre at best.
