Reviews
- Does someone know if this box set will get a re-release? I never got this when it was first released and regret it now, after listening to the record on digital files.
- Just got this (signed) from Fish's website.
There's some annoying vinyl noise at the start of side 2 ("Garden Party") - I can live with that. Apart from that, it's good quality overall. And I really like the new mixes of the old stuff.
However, one thing that's boiling my piss - "Market Square Heroes" is the "battle priest" version. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... - Edited 4 years agoI have seen reviews here regarding poor pressings which I can sympathize with. My pressing is absolutely spot on and sounds absolutely brilliant. Considering this was an eighties album when cd's and digital was taking over, the new remaster and remix sound fantastic. The bass just bounds out my speakers. Like all new vinyl releases these days it seems to be a hit and a miss whether the pressing you get is a good one on this occasion I was fortunate enough to get a good one and if you do it is certainly worth the purchase. The live album is absolutely brilliant and highlights how good Marillion were just out the box.
- I have problems with side four Grendel. There is a lot of surface noise. I got a replace but that was minor better than the first.
Others who experience the same on that tune? - Once again Optimal Media managed to screw it up. Loads of dirt inside the inner sleeves leave several audible scratches on the records. The pressing itself is good, but if you pay a hundred bucks for a set of vinyls, it's pretty depressing if your records are damaged before being played a single time.
