I have this record, sounds fantastic to me but please note: On my white vinyl disc I found both sides had some black smears / streaks across the white vinyl (one side is worse than the other) and some dust embedded in it. It doesn't effect the playing of the record, does not skip. I asked Get on Down about this and they replied: 'all of the whites are like that to some degree, the white vinyl process wasn't perfect, it's just remnants of the black vinyl that wasn't cleaned from the extruder before they pressed the white one'.
Is this release the same as the instrumental LP's found in the 2013 deluxe chess set box set? Those were terrible - vocals could still be heard just quieter on some tracks (I know this is common but they were distractingly loud there) and on some songs a verse would begin at full volume for a word or two before cutting out. Plus they didn't sound good and songs were randomly chopped up and random places. I am hoping this release would make an adequate replacement - is that the case?
Nobody anything to say about this release I'm no friend from Get on Down or Respect the Classics (even worse) I'd be morte happy with an 180 gram Back to Black or Musicon Vinyl or We are Vinyl series.. But this is something I must have!!! Just looked yesterday at the original and the sealed repress and listened to that one of the best Wu-Tang joints ever!!
