Both sides have plenty of very audible surface crackle throughout even after a thorough wet cleaning with record cleaning machine. Volume appears to be very low compared to other vinyl records in my collection. Maybe because each side has 25+ minutes of music.

Not much info on this release here. Has anyone who bought this new have a “we are vinyl” hype sticker on their copy?
Been snoozing for years to get this on vinyl. Didn’t realize that copies of the MFSL are long gone for list price, so got this. Agreed, sounds wonderful — great dynamics and soundstage, good pressing, fine price.

It's always a gamble buying from Amazon in terms of quality (not so much for morality though :P). Not only is the packaging seldom sufficient, but also the pressing is unsure; most often the latest, but sometimes not. This was the biggest surprise I have ever gotten. This is an amazing pressing, available at a dirt cheap price. Clean, well mixed, great dynamics and little to no audible surface noise. Buy this.

I will concur with the other reviewers - this is a great sounding LP. Really nice sound stage and dynamic use of left and right channels. Very quiet with little surface noise. Great eq all the way through.
At this price point this is a no-brainer.

Nice flat and quiet pressing. Especially evident in the quieter parts of the record. John Mclaughlin's guitar tone, to quote an Amazon reviewer, is ball bustingly beautiful.
