Needwant have been purveyors of electronic leaning sounds for nearly a decade now with a long list of forward thinking 12 inches covering a range of sounds from Disco to House, Balearic and electronica. With their Kollect series they aim to delve a bit deeper into one of those genres, bringing together both highlights form the label and friends works, as well as new material to make interesting collection around a common theme.
It seems fitting that the first one is around the Balearic genre, in some ways where it all started or at least the loose term Balearic gave rise to the Acid House movement in the late 80's. This isn't Balearic in the authentic sense but current and recent records which capture that spirit of sunshine, heat and Ibizan sunsets.
The collection or should I say 'Kollection' features scene stalwarts such as Max Essa, Seahawks, Private Agenda, Fabrizio Mammarella, Johannes albert, Coyote and more. Stick this on, sit back and enjoy the last days of summer.
