They could be considered the Norwegian Steeleye Span but on this first album they're less deliberate and the whole thing shines through with a truly honest Nordic aesthetic, like a bright shard of sunlight on a patch of green moss. It's the same Steeleye Span mix of electric and accoustic instruments but with the laser like voice of Lisa Helljesen, who frankly can sing her Brit counterparts under the table. Yes, it's not in English, oh dear oh dear what shall we do? Tap our feet and fling a bit of hay around whilst snacking on a herring, that's what. Fancy a pillage? Yes I'm trying to get you into the party by pushing cultural stereotypes. It's a great album. If you like Steeleye Span, Pentangle or the early years of Malicorne you should enjoy this.

This couldn't be more on point. On a wide scale, this to me feels like the Norwegian version of "Hark! The Village Wait". Very accurate, Mr. stuffedspacedog.
