Holy smokes, what a record. I’ve actually had this in my “listen to” stack for like 2 years now. But I’m a classic jazz guy so I passed it by because it always looked like “too much;” that’s kind of how I feel about most jazz fusion. But this record is something all of its own! Of over 1000 jazz titles, and dozens of classical Asian (mostly Japanese) music, this one sounds like nothing in my collection.

Not the most audiophile pressing (some clicks throughout even after a cleaning), the mastering and musicianship are wonderful. The whole album is a sonic journey and should be sought out, especially while a copy can be had for less that $30!

Very clean if slightly warped but perfectly playable pressing. Quality sound mastering. Thx again Mr Bongo!

This album is incredible, I bought it on a whim at my local. It is dead quiet, incredibly dynamic and amazing sounding in every way. So glad I got this eclectic interesting release that checks many boxes of my musical tastes. Feel like this would be a perfect soundtrack for cowboy bebop/samurai Champloo type anime series.

Mine sounds great except for some parts where the "groove" sounds distorted. This is currently the second record I own with this issue (I own ~450 records). I'm pretty sure it's a rare factory flaw and not related to the pressing itself, since no one else is commenting on this. Almost all tracks on side A get this "distortion" sound on some point in the song. That aside, great reissue, beautiful gatefold cover, and record sounds great.

Absolutely stunning reissue. The sound is glorious, pressed so well. I had little idea what to expect but this exceeds all of them. Highly recommended.
