Sammy Osmo's Schaduw Horizon

1987 - In an abandoned zoo, a NATO military para-physicist is researching the
extra-sensory powers of a Siamese cat and a chess-playing chimpanzee named
Albert. After the Soviets discover the project, the team members are assassinated
one by one at the hands of the enemy agents. The para-physicist and his animal
friends escape via a small sailboat and head out toward a mysterious island that
has been haunting the Siamese cat's visions.

He's definitely a master in creation of threatening atmospheres by means of synthesis and extracting super sounds from each machine he touches. Then this is another example of his best works, one of my favourites. Strange life is really missed by the way.... , there's just something from its releases, by that stage, which is magic

Yet another magnificent release on the classy Strange Life label.
Danny Wolfers continues with his seemingly undendless spawn of creative outburst in melancholy. Wow, I love this album. The whole story of this movie is brilliant, KGB-agents in the Netherlands, extra-sensory powers of a Siamese cat and a chess-playing chimpanzee at the end of the cold war. Never heard of that before. Let's say, this is not your ordinary rental movie.
Whether the movie excists or not, I don't know, couldn't find anything on the net about it.

From the first track the atmosphere of this release really catches you and don't let go till the cd stops and suddenly you realise it just has ended. Press the repeat button on your cd player and sit down in your throne and let the (somehow cosy) historic mysterious cold war interpretation come over you like a warm blanket. The constant threat of something happening is hearable in (almost) every track. This is going to be a classic, if it isn't already.
It's hearable that the sound of Danny Wolfers is coming to maturity on this release. It's hearable in every part.
So, do yourself a favour and buy this album and cherish it for the rest of your life. You won't regret it.

Two thumbs up for mr. Wolfers!
