Original pressing; can be best identified by the color of the label, spine (original is yellow) and size of the stamper ring that goes fully around the Wu-Tang Records logo on labels without touching it.
Late 1990s repress contains the same runout information, but has slightly lighter red labels and a smaller stamper ring. A lighter yellow Wu logo on cover and a white spine.

I have 2 copies of the first press, and they both repeating skip at the exact same place at the end of A4 "Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber" - can anyone confirm if this is a general issue with the first pressing?

Album is 5 stars of course. Anyways people claiming the original copy sounds better or is louder false. The copy is extremely quiet you have to turn the volume up 4x what youd normally have to thats how you know its THE OG copy, secondly 26k people do not have this. Many of you are incorrectly examining your record check the serial number and dont buy unless you receive picks of that serial number. I found my copy in a vinyl antique store the owner didnt know what he had as he doesnt have experience in Hiphop but I do and now im one of the few to open an actual OG 1993 pressing.

Are there any hip-hop vinyl experts who could gladly indicate if there are major sonic differences (or differences other than visual details) between the current and the following issue:

It seems the two are both pressed at SRC during the 1990s and even have the same runout codes (+ DMM cut as well). I can see how the 1st pressing here is likely more valuable, but I am also wondering if any new issues are getting mixed with that particular edition. Do these early pressings really move while being still sealed?

+25k people think they’re sitting on a OG copy of this classic, it’s laughable. Obviously the first run was much much smaller than that. Some things you might wanna double check before proudly claiming you got an OG.

If opened
The catalogue number is 07863 66336-1 (duh).
The stamper ring (on the labels) goes fully around the Wu-Tang Records logo on the labels without touching the logo.
Dark red labels.

If sealed
On the back of the cover there’s a line of text written vertically along the right edge. The OG version ends with the words “Printed in USA” down by the bottom right corner.

Found this record randomly at an antique store, they didn’t know what they had. Unopened perfect condition, no skips, slight warp but no crackles. 31 years old.

My copy looks like it's been cleaned with sandpaper, and the cover is barely holding together. I think this is how it's intended to be played. Either like this or on a cassette that's been rattling around in a dusty glovebox for 15 years.

For all those commenting on the sound quality, this wasn't exactly the pinnacle of audio recording. It didn't sound amazing in 93' and certainly doesn't now, but it's a perfectly fine sounding record after a clean & dust. Some may even have the late 90's/early 00's reissue as it's very hard to tell the difference.
