- The Push is insane. Heard it in a Brawther set on Soundcloud and spent about two weeks to find the tune, but without success. Finally decided to dm him on Instagram and he was the kindest person ever, told me the ID and also gave me the hint on another track with the same sample in it. 10/10 experience from start to finish
- First heard The Push this a couple years ago on the Wetherall Essential mix from '96. BBC sounds replayed it in the classic essential mix, just sublime. The mix is on Youtube with full tracklisting. RIP AW
- This 12" has been in my box since I bought it in '96 and the reason is simple; it's top quality deep house music. The pressing is superb, really loud, the kick thumps and the bass booms but loses no clarity whatsoever. 'The Push' is perfect early set warmup business, grooving bassline, nice brass stabs, vocals that drift in & out, has a slight 70's philly sound. 'Bless The Funk' is a driving breaks track. whilst 'Messages' is the deepest cut with haunting strings, warm pads, and kick that REALLY kicks coupled with a big bassline moving the whole groove along.
10 out of 10 deep house music. - All 3 tracks totally rock. Probably among the best British deephouse tracks made in the mid nineties.. Quality as expected on Evolution
- Totally dope house music, mellow brass feel grabs you without your own will, and then suddenly you're riding on it's blazing summertime splendour - it thumps, jumps and loves all in one 12"! The sound of the Evolution boys falling in love. Most of the time they bring quality to a recording and if you like them on the warm loved-up side of a night out then this tune is for you. As cuddly, lush and pounding as a dance music tune need be. Set your mum free and her art will follow!
