- My copy has the Success n Effect stamp as shown in the release photo, blank the other side... with X2 and Y2 carved on the runouts
- Let the Bass Kick is so rough around the edges, with some blatant production mishaps... especially the way the main stabs come in late after the middle break, as if they were forgotten for a second 😆
And yet... it's a classic.
Happy to own this. - My wife met up and was chatting with Carl over this release as she took my copy to be signed. Carl was delighted to see a copy and mentioned that he does not think he has a copy of this himself....so common with many artists.
- I have a copy with a pinkish label but with a heart shape on one side. Other side white. X2 and y2 runouts
- Found mine in a charity shop for 50p about 10 years ago. Took a chance on a random white label among the usual Leo Sayer LP's. Lucky, very lucky...
- ive got a pressing thats not listed, its white label one side, black the other, white side has success 'n effect in type face on it
- Edited 12 years agoThe 'Lets Get Busy' Boot is by me 'Basement Phil' of Basement Records. I mixed it live with 3 decks and Aubrey did the scratching for me. I used to mix this mix regularly at a residency I had in Reading at a club called 'Gatzbys',which had a Nu Mark Mixer with a 3 second sample box, so I used to sample the Neon Riff and play it over the mix the other two. It used to go down so well I decided to see if I could get it on to a record.
It was meant to be pressed back to back with my other mix up boot which was made out of three records 'Alison Limerick - Where Love Lives', Frankie Knuckles Reprise Mix' and the Freestyle Orchestra - Keep On Pumping It Up', but Raz from Great Asset got the dats mixed up, originally a Terry Hunter Boot was going to be on the back of Carls track.
