Mine was dirty but cleans up great, sounds amazing!!! Ray and Bob nail it again. Wow.

Ok, after a deep three stage cleaning, I'm listening to this guy. Sounds just fine. No noise at all. Looks have improved post cleaning, yet still not a deep glossy black. Hmmm..

Bob Ludwig did his usual fabulous job on this.

Hey folks, I have the first US pressing from above. The physical media looks EXACTLY as you describe. I've never seen a new record this scuffed and full of swirls. I'm in the process of doing a deep clean on my record cleaning machine. Let's see...

Let me echo the below comments. The vinyl looks like it is defective, but there was no discernible surface noise. I cannot wonder if it will hold up to continued listening. Good music enjoyable listen hope it remains so

This review relates to the US pressing https://www.discogs.com/Ray-Lamontagne-Monovision/release/15530549 As reported by others, the record was pretty grotty when I opened it (but nowhere near as dirty as some others I've opened). I put it through my ultrasonic cleaner (I wasn't going to subject my stylus to that crap) and it still looks average, but there's not a bit of surface noise to be heard. I would love to see what Memphis Record Pressing could do if they really put in an effort to keep the records clean. A really lovely deep, dynamic and reverb-soaked production.

Wow, you all weren't kidding. This is the dirtiest record I've ever received! It somehow doesn't sound as bad as it looks. Even after cleaning, it looks completely scuffed all over. Quality control was nonexistent.

Side B also looks shocking on my copy, but only the last track has a few buzzing noises, but not too obtrusive. I am also constantly puzzled as to how a record can look like it was used as a coaster but still play fine.

Surprisingly--you'll read why in a moment--this album sounds really good and I don't hear many pops/clicks at all. This is surprising because the pressing looks like it was handled by a rotary sander!! The vinyl surface is atrocious looking with what appears to be scratches and swirls all over both sides. Plus it looks like a filthy film is also on the record--not helped by cleaning either. I don't know where this was pressed but I wish I could post a pic to show how horrible it looks. But again, surprisingly, it sounds pretty darn good.

My copy, purchased here in the Midwestern US, is an MPO pressing. Very quiet and flat. I'll get the deadwax info and post it later. But it has the MPO logo stamped in and none of the other info is stamped as is typical of MRP/GZ/Precision. All hand inscribed.

The Music is absolutely beautiful but I've exchanged this record once already as the last track on side B had an absurd amount of static pop/crack and made it unlistenable. I've cleaned my stylus...even re-calibrated the tone arm etc...record does not appear to have any dust whatsoever on it...anyone else experiencing this?
