mostly instrumental with some superb raps by the wonderful jean grae, this 2nd album by the herbaliser is ful of cool dope beats. it is rougher than their later work, but in a good sense. very enjoyable, very groovy from start to end, somewhere between hiphop and triphop. great!

Simply put, this is worth the price of admission for The Blend alone. What What/Jean Grae's rap is exceptional. The album as a whole is excellent but The Blend is on a completely different level.
