- ^_^ so sorry, just listened to "Jaguar" and it's NOT like this.
So I've heard it somewhere else and was so happy to hear it while playing LBP.
Again: sorry, sorry sorry for my stupid review! - I've discovered this amazing track last week by playing "Little Big Planet PS Vita".
The melody is so familiar to me, because it's a cover version of the legendary:
"Jaguar" on Knights Of The Jaguar EP from 1999!
I just wonder why they didn't mention it somewhere in the credits.
Really great orchestrated, love it, want it! - I love the genre tags that the contributor added to this release. Deep house... Contemporary jazz? Very imaginative genres for what is essentially a straight up funky techno track! Yes it has a tuba bassline, which is amazing by the way! But beyond the instrumentation, what you have here is an undeniable tech funk that would be appreciated in just about any mix. It is so likable and malleable, a trademark of the D3R sound over the years, but Andreas really outdid himself on this one. It is simultaneously a shout out to his trance roots and a "yeah, I'm older now, but so what?" to his current minimal/tech-house vibe. Whatever your taste, Swing Bop has got a flavor you will dig.
- I think this release is genius. Besides retaining one particular motif, it sounds nothing like its parent track, "Hale Bopp", which to me is a significant accomplishment. I don't know that much about music production, but if D3R didn't get a live band together to make this track, it sure sounds like they did. It comes across as very fun and lively, and I dare you not to dance to it if/when a DJ plays it at a club! Seventeen enthusiastic thumbs-up!
