Album Revolution #6: After having 5 great albums in a row, it seemed that "Teddy Pendergrass" would be unstopable!!!! Well, I will say his sixth album, "It's Time For Love" wasn't as strong as the previous five albums....Still, it was great enough to be in "Teddy's" Album Revolution...This album almost mirrored his "Teddy" album, but it was more on the Love and Romance side instead of having that "Super Sexy Teddy Vibe"...Starting the album is the classic and Ultimate Crown Jewel, "I Can't Live Without Your Love" (written by "Cecil Womack" and "Leon A. Huff").....This nice joint has "Teddy" more subtle Vocally, even though his power was still very evident...Now, the Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel, "You're My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration", is the Gems of all Gems!!!! For the last 4 decades, this absolutely, beautifully crafted song by "Kenny Gamble and "Leon Huff", has hands down become the theme song for just about all of Black America Weddings!!!!!! I don't know how it faired on the charts, but I don't think anyone ever cared!!! It is also one of "Teddy's" most requested songs ever!!!!! "Nine Time Out Of Ten" (also by "Gamble & Huff"), is a nice little slice....It's not as powerful as the first two songs, but it was good enough to be the 3rd Crown Jewel..."Keep On Lovin' Me" (Produced by "Teddy" and "Mr. Orbit Dexter Wansel") is ok....It's not terrible, it just not in the class of the other songs...."It's Time For Love" has 'Gamble & Huff" serving "Teddy" a nice sexy joint (and an Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate , Ultimate Crown Jewel)...."Teddy" made sure people didn't forget that he could deliver a spicy joint, with his Roaring commanding Vocals...."She's Over Me", the next Ultimate Crown Jewel ("Teddy" and "Dexter Wansel"), was a pure tearjerker of a heartbreak song....You felt every regret coming out of "Teddy" on this one!!!! "I Can't Leave Your Love Alone", even being done by "Gamble & Huff", was the other ok joint on here...It was a Swing Time inspired joint, but it wasn't all that to me personally (even though it was better than "Keep On Lovin' Me")....The last Ultimate Crown Jewel, "You Must Live On" ("Gamble & Huff"), sounded perfect for "Teddy", kind of bringing a little "Harold Melvin & Blue Note" flavor back.....I also think that "Lou Rawls" could have pulled this off as well (just a thought) .....Well, this is it in a nutshell about this one...Again, it was a very classic album, but compared to the last five, it was still a little step down...The next year would drastically change for "Teddy", but for now, he could still marvel in his success...So, maybe not like his other classic albums, it is still very much sought after!!!!!!!
