How come this Tone Poet, in particular, is so expensive on here? It's still in stock for a reasonable price here (UK):

Same recording session as "Grant Green - Idle moments" : same musiciens and atmosphere + "first time on vynil" + mastering by Kevin Gray + Blue Note Tone Poet limited edition.. what else do you want ?

Just a sublime sounding record. It really does sound like a sister piece to Grant Green’s Idle Moments. These Tone Poets are very very good.

The sound ist really great, like newly recorded. But the quality control of the vinyl could be improved a lot! I needed to return it three times to get a flat one! Two of them were totally warped, my needle had a rollercoaster ride...
For such prices I expect better quality controls!

Fantastic sound. Great press cover has hery thick gatefold cover, the same as in the 60s, so its fantastic last 20 years beck this covers on blue note was very very this.
Great press

This review is based on my listening experience using a custom built U-Turn Orbit turntable with a built in Pluto amplifier & a Ortofon 2M Red cartridge paired with Edifier R2000db powered speakers.

I’m not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination but I’m an aspiring one.

What an intriguing story here: locked in the vaults, was never released until the 90s, & this is the first issue on vinyl. That’s some history right there.

The intimacy of the record shines through with the story in mind: Creative minds, coming together, & pouring their creativity out for the world to (eventually) hear. It’s officially my favorite dose of nostalgia. I highly recommend this record.

One of my all-time favorite albums, and another great from the Blue Note Tone Poet series. Pressing is perfect—when I heard Joe’s first few notes on “Mirrors” my jaw dropped to the floor. Can’t say enough about the sound quality!

My copy has some annyoing crackles on B1 (at the end of Grant Greens solo) Anybody else with the same issue?

A great one from the Tone Poet series - pre ordered the second I saw it, did not disappoint. Stoked to finally have it on vinyl. No issues withe pressing or mastering. Recommended.

This is a fantastic pressing! Clean, flat and flawless! Very dynamic with depth and a lot of detail. It has a full, warm, rich and expansive sound. Blue Note is doing a fabulous job on the "Tone Poet" and "Blue Note 80" Series. Excellent comeback after the faulty "Blue Note 75th Anniversary Vinyl Initiative"! I also look forward to "The Blue Note Classic Series" with releases starting 12/2020.
