Notes

Original pressings came with a 20-page black-and-white comic book titled "Kanned Korn Komix (A Kanned Heat Folly)," illustrated by Bo Schnepf. "Kanned Korn Komix" was also available separately, and had a 10 cent cover price. "Kanned Korn Komix" was published by the Canned Heat Fan Club and Liberty Records.

This is a pressing from Research Craft in Los Angeles. Identifiers are the 2.875" pressing ring and label typeface by The Bert-Co. Enterprises.

Compare to Canned Heat - Future Blues. Differentiating this edition is text in white, not black font, on the lower left of the inside of the gatefold.

Received today the album directly from the USA. 1st press. Optically VG. Sound EX. Cover VG (strong punktually signs of unfoilde old cover).
But the label features are highly interesting. Side A covers regular LST 11002 label. Side B is the B-side label from LST 11003 (Dennis Yost & the Classic IV).
The headline is pasted over with a little paper sheet, written by contemporary typewriter: Canned Heat. Future Blues. LST 11002. As it was a crapshot by manufacturer. Has anybody similary experiences with this LP?

Possibly their most diverse album. Maybe it's because Alan Wilson has penned more of the tunes and has more of the mic than on the previous albums. Also, Harvey Mandel has replaced Henry "The Sunflower" Vestine on lead guitar and that also brings a different sound. It opens up in a fairly familiar format with Hite singing on "Sugar Bee", there's the interesting cover of "That's Alright Mama" and the famous cover of "Let's Work Together" but this is possibly my least favourite of the classic Heat albums.
