Reviews
- Edited 9 years agoStarting with the year of this release i was a little prejudiced about this compilation. i didn't expect the usual happy hardcore style from earlier releases and i found myself right. Sometimes you have to stop when you are at the pick of your fame. The first cd numbers 12 tracks while the second numbers 19!!! (never understood why this happened, but it's ok). What is completely diverse in this compilation is the style. I have bought compilations with 2 or 3 cds but always in the back is written e.g. disk 1 disco, disk 2 italodisco, disk 3 new wave. Nothing here to make us pay attention of what we are about to listen. The first cd is full of soft trance tracks, but no hard trance and the second one contains the songs that justify the title "Happy Rave", but.......not happy enough. What i mean.....If you are familiar with the earlier releases you will see that while the songs are of course happy hardcore, they luck the energy, the rhythm, the mood and the fluctuation, the colour of sounds. They are a bit flat, like something is missing. Of course this is my point of view and one should listen and judge it. I will not write something about the first cd, because it's the typical sound of the 1997-1998 trance era. Amusing but still subordinate from the trance style of Scooter, Rmb, Brooklyn Bounce or 666 from the equivalent era.
