An utterly gorgeous album. I can see why they wanted to get this out during a horrible time for the planet. Its beauty, its euphoria, its melodic quality....sounds so hopeful. Remember when things were BEAUTIFUL?? Well, here it is! A return to form, for me. Best album since ARC.

The CD sounds great. I can just imagine a GZ pressed vinyl sounding brittle though. The production is of course very contemporary, plenty of fizz and grit with distorted keyboard sounds, short on hi-hats and cymbals. There's more guitar than of late (LOVE the feedback moment in the first track!) but still I think CD should be the audiophile format of choice for this one, in my opinion (and this is coming from a vinylhead!).

Have tested the CD and the transparent press of the LP supplied by Amazon. Both versions have the wrong mix of Violent Sun which the band changed out on streaming platforms. Compared to their previous albums this one sounds very dull and over compressed. The LP is cut and pressed by GZ media and lacks power and transparency compared to any of their previous vinyl. Both formats sound like they are mixed for listening on streaming via mobile phone and low quality headphones. I would like to know how the band are going to allow fans to access the correct mix of Violent Sun as the chances of the pressings being recalled and repressed is probably slim. I'm a big fan of the band but this is disappointing.

Does the CD feature the wrong/alternative mix of Violent Sun, too?
