Good to have Doves back even if it might be their final hurrah. A top notch record.- Is it just me or does Cycle of Hurt use a piece called Vanity by Mica Levi? Doesn't seem to mention it in the sleeve notes though...
Annoying tiny drum loops that sound shallow against the tired vocals. All been said and done I guess. Sure miss my old Doves. Top shelf. What happened...- Maybe its just speculating but does anyone else hear Cold play and not the old great Cold Play.
- Very clean and quiet pressing. A lot of indie band vinyl lately has been of pretty mediocre quality, to the point where I'd rather listen to the digital version. Not the case here, really good sounding pressing worthy of the band.
Preordered the autographed (red) vinyl edition from DOVES webstore, and I'm really glad I did. It's a lovely pressing, and sounds fantastic. It arrived pristine from across the pond, and the signatures are awesome in gold. Another great LP from a criminally underrated band.- Very happy with my copy, unusually given my luck I seem to have ended up with a copy that's quiet, flat and centred, on the first attempt! Great album, too.
