I ordered the September 2024 Hyperion re-pressing of this. Disappointing - my copy was blighted with an unacceptable level of surface noise (for a new LP). Wet cleaned twice - but no improvement. Issues clearly baked into the LP by the manufacturing process.
An exceptional recording, but if you cannot get hold of the 1982 pressing, you are probably better off with a digital version.
Wow. What an incredible sounding pressing. The power to move you to tears.- Hildegard's influence has grown over the past two decades as the church continues to modernize herself by elevating its early women. The pivot is welcome for lovers such as Hildegard and loves of sublime music such as myself. This Hyperion collection is a fine representation of the numerous recordings available and provides my favorite interpretation of O Presul Vere Civitas that has thus far been recorded.
