A Muzsikás Együttes 1973-ban alakult a régi falusi parasztzenekarok, a "muzsikások" mintájára, és zenéjükben ezt a hangzásvilágot adják vissza. A hiteles zenélési módot a ma még meglevő falusi zenekaroktól, zenészektől tanulják.
Első nagylemezükön a magyar nyelvterület különféle tájairól gyűjtött dallamokat szólaltatják meg. A Muzsikás együttes 1974-ben elnyerte a "Népművészet Ifjú Mestere" címet.
The "Muzsikás" Ensemble was founded in 1973 modelling the early village peasant ensembles, the "muzsikás"-es (music-makers) and they reflect the same world of sound. They have learned authentic music-making from the presently existing village orchestras and musicians. On this first LP of theirs they perform tunes collected from several regions of Hungarian-speaking areas. In 1974 they were awarded the title "Young Masters of Folk Art".
Das Muzsikás-Ensemble ("Musikantensemble") wurde 1973 nach dem Vorbild alter bauerlicher Dorfkappelen gebildet und bringt die Klangwelt dieser Art von Musikanten. Die authentische Vortragsweise wird von den heute noch bestehenden Dorfkappelen übernommen. Auf der ersten selbstandigen Schallplatte lasst das Ensemble den Melodieschatz verschiedener ungarischer Gegenden erklingen. Das Ensemble wurde 1974 mit dem Ehrentitel "Jugendliche Meister de Volkskunst" ausgezeichnet.
