Reviews
- Love this album. The Rose Rouge cover that's the lead track is, in my opinion, one of those few covers that totally blows the original out of the water.
- Nubya Garcia's track has me worried about my turntable every time it starts. LOL But Jordan Rakei is a genius... do not sleep on that guy. What great production and concept. Really well executed all the way around... but yes: the track listing on the album cover vs the wax itself is hilariously jumbled. The tracks are correct on the album itself, however.
- Sweet selection of tracks and this pressing sounds good on my system. The tracklisting on the sleeve is incorrect though: track B4 is actually the first one on disc 2.
- I loved the music on this album the day it arrived. That said, I just put a new needle in the stylus and listened again; it was a new experience. super clean and immersive production. Not sure if this was a different pressing run than others have referenced, but i'll give this a 5/5 in the listening pleasure department.
- Music and project are interesting: there are some beautiful tracks such as Nubya Garcia - A Shade Of Jade, Steam Down Featuring Afronaut Zu - Etcetera or Blue Lab Beats - Montara. Music 4/5 stars.
As for the pressing my copy is flat enough but there is some background noise here and there. Pressing 4/5 stars.
Sound quality unfortunately is instead not good. My copy sounds compressed, like if there is veil in front of my speakers, and soundstage is narrow. SQ 2.5/5 stars. - The music is tremendous, if a little vocal heavy.
If the Grammys had a category for the worst liner notes, this would be a favorite. The musician credits are a jumble instead of listing the song with the credits beneath. Not only that but both sleeves are identical repeating the same information on both. A new Emma - Jean Thackery track is worth the price of admission.
