Shock is the second full cd of the band:
the music is cold and dark , the combination of harsh and cold vocals with the sounds creates an atmosphere of alienation and loneliness.

My favorite track is Chicago Cave , in this song there is Interaction between clear vocals to harsh and very powerful vocals, there is tremendous power in the music.

Other highlights: ( actually almost all the other tracks on the album : No Hope No Fear , Baby Needs Crack , Erection, Humiliation , From Above.
The Tale and From Above are instrumental tracks:
From Above is a beautiful track with hypnotic sounds, these sounds create an atmosphere of mystery and visions of frost.

Vomito Negro has varied styles of musical expression and many different vocal styles on their albums .
Extraordinary vocal ability: ( Children Of Today -Dare 1988 / Human, Meeting Eyes - Human 1990 / XTC - The New Drug 1991 / Touch The Sky , Hate - Wake Up 1992 / Chicago Cave - Shock 1989.
The vocals can be aggressive or soft,
full of sadness and melancholy, Cold and rough,
the vocals have the ability to provide beauty.

I was really surprised at how raw this was first time I heard it. Slowly over time I discovered just how awesome an album it was and have spun it considerably this year. Yes, it has really rough production, especially on the vocals but it kinda adds to the charm if you like darker, rougher stuff like this. 'From Above' has become one of my favorite instrumentals of all time, queued on my mp3 player endlessly. Other excellent standouts are 'Chicago Cave' 'Baby Needs Crack' and 'Humiliation', although all 8 songs are awesome. Unless Wake-Up or Fireball bowls me over when I acquire them, this will remain my favorite Vomito Negro.
