Notes

Released in digipak. Included 16 panel foldout sleeve and 30 page book of 'Sound Composition with Pulsars' by Curtis Roads.
Packaging design by Joe Gilmore, featuring text manipulation by Florian Hecker, printed in two colour separations, metallic silver and black.

All works composed with the new pulsar generator (nuPG) program designed by Marcin Pietruszewski in SuperCollider 3 programming language [1]. Tracks 2, 3, 5 and 10 composed at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (2018). Tracks 11-14 employ a sieve algorithm [2], [3] for pulsar train masking. Tracks 1 and 4 employ micro-modulation of a plusaret envelope – an extension to overlapped pulsaret-width modulation technique (OPulWM) [4]. Track 15 derived from data sonification model of the first pulsar – a highly magnetised rotating neutron star (PSR B1919+21) – as discovered by Jocelyn Bell Burnell [5].
