- Edited one year agoI actually bought this only for the beautiful cover, to put in a frame in my music room. Upon opening the record, my copy is unplayed NM condition. Score.
Some very fine conversations between Armstrong and Murrow, sprinkled with some musical selections throughout. Highlights are "...Sleepy Time Down South", and "St Louis Blues".
Columbia 6-eye, pristine vinyl with no issues at all.
3.5 stars. - One of my cherished albums. If you have an opportunity to get a clean copy and love the story of Louis Armstrong, you owe it to yourself to get this! To hear his interviews with Edward R. Murrow and the love of music he shared, is historically priceless!
- Have a red label version of this record with a different cover - a watercolor of four musicians playing together.
