A favorite from my childhood. I remember blasting the cassette tape on family road trips through my tinny-sounding headphones. I recently bought a copy of the LP at my local record shop, Gerosa Records. It plays perfectly. Great memories unlocked. She even has a song written by Prince.

I was able to get a NM copy that was played only once or twice. I bought from the original owner.

Dead silent pressing. No clicks, no pops. I don’t know what others are talking about it not being a good master. It sounds phenomenal on my system. I just adjusted the bass and treble a little and it’s bright, balanced and dynamic.

A truly brilliant debut from a very talented writer and musician. Cyndi transcends her cutesy squeaky voice persona with some solid musical moments. Her Motown influence shows periodically.

Highlights are "Time After Time" and "She Bop".

Very nice recording and mix with a fun '80s panned soundstage.

She's So Unusual: Yeah, but what's truly UNUSUAL is that the brilliant fun mix of 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Extended Version)' has yet not been released on any of the CD reissues! That wicked mix was the one to jam the dancefloors when it was originally released in 1983.
Neither is the accompanying mix of 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Fun With V. Knutsn) (Instrumental)' which appeared on pretty much most of the 12" pressings.

Nothing but love for this classic album, but this pressing is pretty lousy. Thin, trebly; everything bad about 80s vinyl in a nutshell. For what it's worth it's listenable, but definitely look for another edition if possible.
