Reviews
- Pops and clicks throughout but very tolerable - a decent sounding record considering it's a quiet recording which usually lends itself to the record noise being more noticeable.
- Edited 2 years agoGot mine From HMV on sale for £9.99 so I took the plunge and got it. I was planning to get the 10th Anniv version but it's too expensive on resale. To my surprise, I am one of those lucky ones that got a clean copy of this one. Only a handful of pops on Blood Bank and the rest are clean. Satisfied with what I got for less than a tenner.
- Absolutely garbage pressing it almost insulting that they sell it. Save your time everyone - find different version.
- They should just dump all these pressings because they are trash, noisiest new pressing I've ever heard. Shame on the people who put this out.
- I knew that the pressing sounded off, but I didn't realize HOW off until I bought the red 10yr reissue. That version is so much cleaner and crisper than this.
- I bought this at one of his shows in Manchester. I bought it primarily for 'Woods' because I had heard the version of that song on the Volcano Choir LP. But the other songs really put that to shame. What a great EP this is.
As for the pressing, perhaps I got lucky, but mine is great. No noise, no pops or crackles. Nothing. - Unfortunately, I am generally disappointed in Jagjaguwar vinyl releases. They're often noisy and poorly pressed. Upon reading these comments, I figured this would be another disappointment in a long string. It's not great to be sure—I hear light surface noise throughout. BUT, it's better than expected. I didn't hear constant loud pops. Such faint praise, I know. I cleaned mine with an Audio Desk System Pro which I'm sure helped a lot. Still not a solid, quiet pressing but mine is listenable. I really wish Jagjaguwar would step up their vinyl game. Not sure if all their pressings get done at the dreaded United, but I wish they'd explore other options and insist on quality pressings. I'd pay a bit more if I was guaranteed good quality.
- Returned my copy to the record store. Never experienced such bad quality on a newly bought vinyl record.
- I agree with juhpopey. The pressing is noisier than I can tolerate. Very disappointed with this one. Such a shame as this is quite an intimate EP and deserves much better.
- Edited 8 years agoThis pressing is absolutely atrocious. Worse than even For Emma, in my opinion. Came out of shrink slightly bowl shaped, vacuum cleaned it, still have extraordinarily loud pops throughout and terrible surface noise on Side B.
