Reviews
- I just ordered this monster box. Is the DVD 5.1 the same as the previously released Silverline DVD-A? Any opinions of which is better, and also of which one offers the better 2.0 version?
- My OCD can not deal with the grain effect on the box cover running the opposite way to the wood grain in the artwork. You had one job, who ever stuffed that up. Surely some of these had the texturing running in the correct direction???
- I presume this is the same mix/cut as the "40th Anniversary Deluxe" edition with the book cover? Word is that mix is very thin with anemic bass. Is this the same record?
- Just bought this box . It's cool , the live albums are very good and the DVD has a great raw gig with the crowd going insane. Motorhead at it's peak. The LP cover of Ace Of Spades could be better. It's also a bit "wide". Looks like it can hold 2 records. The box itself is beautiful.
Overal a nice release. - Edited 4 years agoYou may like the 40th anniversary remaster or not, but the box, the quality, the design, the contents, the price (I bought it for 115$!) it is superb, just superb. And the 5.1 mix sound completely different, and great as well.
- Riders wearing Black:
LP-I3 –Motörhead Bite The Bullet
LP-I4 –Motörhead The Chase Is Better Than The Catch
These two songs have a problem. Lemmy announces that there are two songs together in one, but there is an abrupt cut just in the beginning of "The Chase..." and it is almost completely missing. Anyone else noticed that? - This really is, the Motorhead completist's most essential purchase. The pressing itself, is so magnificent and the printed, imitation wooden-themed box is a great way to present the set, without the risk of Motorhead's pensioner-aged fans getting splinters in their fingers, which is always a worry with these types of things, isn't it?
- Does anyone else have the 5.1 mix on the dvd NOT play? Mine will not play in my dvd player OR the computer!
Also, the picture quality of the Belfast performance for the BBC is abysmal!! - Preorders on official Motörhead web site store included an additional free 7” single in facsimile of the original Dutch PC with an unreleased instrumental version on the B side. The bundle included a black Ace Of Spades 40th anniversary T Shirt. Sets now sold out.
