So these 40th Anniversary editions come inside of a book? Do the books have quality binding and look to be able to survive regular use and handling?

Edited one year ago
Random distortions start with Fast and Loose and then continue into We are the Roadcrew. Going to try a replacement. Checked with two setups and different diamond cuts and got same result. No issues whatsoever with either the Overkill or Bomber sets. Though I can say this isn't the first time I've had an issue with an Alchemy cut. They botched the first reissue of JAMC Darklands from the boxset and ended up recutting and repressing the album (others confirmed the same problems I had). Demon records did an amazing followup on that whole saga. Hopefully it's just a bad pressing and not a bad cut.
Update: second copy. Sound quality is worse (less clarity, more stale sounding) than the first copy but distortions don't appear til later in We are the Road Crew. I don't doubt that some copies sound ok but the QC must be all over the map for these pressings. What a disappointment.
Second update:
After three to four plays the distortions went away on my first copy. I can only imagine it was due to some sort of film leftover from the pressing process. The second garbage sounding copy will go back and the first copy will get a deep cleaning. It still could have been mastered better but this is definitely a welcome surprise.
