    what an incredible album. manages to build on the past by subverting the expectations of pre-established cultural cues, which has always kinda been Daniel's thing, sure, but here it's done in a truly honest, authentic and endearing fashion, and with such musical acuity too. diverse but never haphazard, heartfelt but never sentimental to a point of excess. on its way to become my favorite record in his already (nearly) spotless discography, and AOTY as well.

    also, the selective gloss just below the goo drip on the CD cover art is a really nice touch
