The title of this album comes from a road sign that was on the A24, just as you started south along a stretch known locally as The Mickleham Bends (or Micky Bends- a fantastic winding racetrack of a dual carriageway, the other end of which takes you to Box Hill) between Leatherhead and Dorking as you headed from London to Strawberry Recording Studios (South), where this LP was recorded.

Sadly, the sign disappeared somewhere around the end of the 80s and I can't find any photograph of it. Wonder where it is now.

One of the first lp's that I ever owned and I have fond memories of it. It's not the best 10cc album by a long chalk, but .... it has one of the best guitar solos of all time tucked away in the final track (Feel The Benefit, Part 3). A tremendous climax and a wonderfully constructed piece by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman that gets me every time I play it. Stewart especially was a very underrated guitarist and deserves great credit for his musicianship as well as his songwriting. The album is worth procuring simply for this highlight, IMHO.
