Tin Angel and Jay Pluck lave rereleased this album on LP, CD, and download. a very good reconstruction, from records. the tape was lost.

In the UK this album came out on Fontana (with the ESP logo on the front). The negative was reversed so the photo appears in the original B&W.
This really is a wonderful album of fairly dark folk songs that has inspired me since I first heard it around 1978. It took me several years to find a vinyl copy (£8 in Pandemonium Records in Manchester 1982). Ed plays a tipple which is South American lute type instrument of 10 - 14 strings usually. It is very hard to play and sing at the same time which accounts for Ed's slightly strained vocals (which only adds to the charm). Lyrical content is mystical without whimsy. The melodies are very memorable and bear (nay reward) repeated plays. I believe Ed has a new album out on Tin Angel - can't wait to hear it.

probably one of the best winter albums ever..
as with all ESP releases from the era, it is a one take live reccording and a brutally honest one at that. ed askew must have been really inspired at those days, his unique 8 string (or 10) instrument is a poem of its own..
