Not usually a 'first pressing' kind of collector but tracked this one down for fun because most people actually have the GZ/PRP reissues. Sounds clear and plays flat, even secondhand; a very nice pressing. Still not sure what the notes are talking about re: exiles (long pond) version, the lyrics on the inner sleeve match the studio version and the studio version is pressed on Side A.
My copy was was made in Canada, and it’s semi-transparent, not totally clear like some other copies, but far from opaque. As far as sound quality goes: comparing to lossless digital, this pressing is just as good if not better (sounds smoother and warmer) than the digital mastering. My TT picks up one or two pops during invisible string and some very quiet clicks during mirrorball, but other than that, this pressing sounds flawless. Bright, clear sound, defined bass, no distortion except for a slight bit during the bridges of exile.
Love the cover and my copy sounds pretty good. I really wanted a folklore album and got this in target’s BF deal. I prefer this cover over the original, but just hate that it has to be the regular target red lol
