Reviews
- Edited 7 months ago...very, very sparse - best to preview via a digital copy before splashing out on a vinyl disc - unless you're confident you will enjoy the sound of the disc rotating at whatever speed you choose to play it... I recall a remark made by Harold Budd along the lines of striving for the least sound that made a difference (I'm paraphrasing obs) - often HB hit that spot; here Burial & the team may have under-egged the pudding !
- Edited 2 years agoMaybe he should just change the alias. Lots of people have fond memories connected to the first 2 albums era. We don't need to get dissappointed over and over again with each new release. Which are ofc different, new, whatever. "Burial" doesn't mean what it meant years back, anymore. Think about that, William. Best of luck.
- I love this 12”. Sounds powerful and clean. Like the mysterious black artwork: no information (except for the etchings on the vinyl record itself). The songs are just superb: dark, atmospheric, highly immersive and addictive music for the apocalyptic times we are living in.
- I feel for people who are stuck in past and expect artist to drop same music through all the years. His rope is masterpiece, great atmosphere and pretty minimalistic but so satisfying use of instrumentals. Her revolution is just not my cup of tea but is also good. Record itself is sadly a bit noisy for me, but could be worse I guess. I wonder how many people wasted money to get tones of that 'super limited' album as some of people claimed when it dropped
- Ok but how many of y’all are filing this under T or Y for Thom Yorke, or F for Four Tet? It goes in the Bs, ladies and gentlemen 🤣
- loads of copies of these in Rough Trade atm as a heads up from the weekend just gone. Pleasant surprise at the tills.
- I did not hear the tracks on vynil, but honestly missing the feast for the ears. It looks more like a diligent style exercise from the 3 guys. All is bit boring and lacks of real intensity. does not worth 10 or 100 €, but this is of course my personal thought.
- Edited 2 years agoMultiple copies now available (Mint) for €13.50 from EU based sellers - multiple UK based numpties still trying to sell it for £40 - £120 lol
What are they missing - or what am I missing?! - A nice addition to the Burial + Four Tet white label series. With 7 tracks now, it's a kind of 48min album, punctuate by 4 songs with Thom Yorke. Some of the finest collaborative works of the 3 artists are here.
This one had a more intimate and depressive mood. Definitely two beautiful tracks.
